Gasoline Rainbow
Gasoline Rainbow
the new album from Landon Knoblock and Jason Furman

"Gasoline Rainbow is unpredictable, energetic, beautiful, loud, soft, subtle and surprising." -Bruce Lindsay, All About Jazz "
Angular free jazz that skirts the line of civil rights/loft jazz, this duo knows how to improvise and kick it around spontaneously with fine results." -Chris Spector, Midwest Record
"Knoblock and Furman might not know for sure where their excursions will take them once they start, but it’s clear after listening to Gasoline Rainbow that, for the musicians and their listeners, the journey is the reward" -Terrell Holmes, The New York City Jazz Record
"Gasoline Rainbow takes improvised jazz to the next level making an album filled with twists and turns and startling musicianship." -Jon Neudorf, SeaofTranquility.org
"Harmonic and discordant all at once, and in all the right places . . . Furman's drumming is outstanding . . . a fantastical musical world" -Gray Hunter, A Hand in the Act of Writing
"Out of the box altogether . . . a wild exploratory album" -Mark Hayes, Passing Notes
Pianist Landon Knoblock and drummer Jason Furman have been making music together for over 10 years. From their first performance together at a North Miami Beach mega church to their subsequent weddings gigs, club dates, and bar mitzvahs, they never played jazz or improvised. That all changed when an off the cuff recording session turned into an inspired exploration of sound and space, texture and rhythm. An exciting and spontaneous musical duo was born. Described as “highly satisfying” by Luca Labrini of JazzConvention.net, Knoblock and Furman demonstrate “a near perfect musical understanding”. Brad Walseth of JazzChicago.net writes “the music veer[s] from introspective and sweet to incendiary and at times edgy”. Now, Landon Knoblock and Jason Furman present their new album, Gasoline Rainbow, on Fractamodi Music. An inspired set of musical paintings and landscapes that share stories of life and experience, Gasoline Rainbow is rooted in jazz but grows into music more eclectic and less predictable.
